Blacky, 3 years old
Meet Blacky
Blacky is an estimated 3-year-old who has had a difficult start in life. He was abandoned in the street by his human at the age of one, but a kind woman found him and took him in, providing love and support as she transitioned him to an indoor life and helped him get along with her cat. Sadly, she later passed away from cancer, leaving Blacky homeless once again. Fortunately, another woman took him in, where he received necessary health checks and found out that he is FIV positive.
FIV-positive, which simply means he has a weakened immune system compared to other cats. FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is a cat-specific virus that cannot be transmitted to humans. It can only be transmitted to other cats through deep wound. With proper care, a nutritious diet, and regular vet check-ups, FIV-positive cats like Blacky can live long, happy, and healthy lives. In fact, many FIV-positive cats don’t show symptoms at all and live normal and just as long as non-FIV cats.
At first, Blacky can be a bit shy and may hide from new people, but he quickly warms up as he realizes they mean him no harm. He just needs some patience to adjust to new surroundings. Once he feels at ease, he transforms into the most loving companion. He is not destructive and remains calm when left alone, though he genuinely enjoys the company of people.
Blacky is somewhat chatty, often responding when spoken to. He loves being brushed and receiving head scratches. During his quiet moments, you can find him lounging by the window, eagerly watching the birds outside.
He does well with other calm cats, provided that introductions are done correctly. Otherwise, he can happily thrive as the only cat in the home.
Blacky is fully vaccinated for both tricat and rabies, microchipped, dewormed, neutered, tested negative for mycoplasma and FeLV. Positive for FIV.
He is currently in Bahrain and ready to travel to the Netherlands as soon as home is found.
Adoption fee is EU280 to cover some parts of his relocation costs to the Netherlands.
