Sofia, 3.5 years old
Meet Sofia, she’s been waiting for her forever home since she was rescued a year ago. Despite being so sweet and calm cat, she is overlooked sadly. Hoping this year
Here is Sofia’s life story:
At the beginning, life was good for Sofia and her babies living next to a shopping mall, getting daily treats from the nice people at the nearby restaurant and mall shoppers. But, things took a dramatic turn when a pesky pest control company came to trap them!
Luckily, a lady happened to pass by the mall that day and saved them from those pesky humans. Mama Sofia was frantically crying after her kittens when they were rescued first before her. Running behind their rescuer following her to the car. They were all taken to the veterinary to get the necessary health check.
The first few months in foster home, Sofia experienced a urinary tract infection (UTI) and was diagnosed through an X-ray, which revealed the presence of crystals in her urinary tract. However, a urine sample analysis showed that she did not have an active infection. With the help of a special diet focused on urinary health, Sofia was able to eliminate the crystals and is now free of any further issues. As much as possible, she’ll need to be in urinary food to prevent the crystal from forming back, otherwise she can be in regular good quality food.
Sofia is a bit of a diva, though – she loves being the center of attention and gets a little grumpy when she’s not the only one getting snuggles. But don’t worry, she’s still super sweet and loves to cuddle with her foster mom, sleeping in her arms in bed at night or under the blanket.
Sofia is a playful kitty who loves to chase toys and get some exercise. She’s also a snuggle bug, often curling up beside you or jumping onto your lap for a snooze. She adores human attention and loves being petted. She loves to lay down next to you quietly. In fact, as soon as you sit you’ll find her in your lap immediately.
Sofia would thrive in a home where she’s the only cat since she likes to be the center of attention. She is an indoor cat only or with access to a fully catproofed balcony or secure garden.
Sofia is estimated as 3-4 years old and she is fully vaccinated against tricat and rabies, spayed, microchipped, tested negative for giardia, mycoplasma and FIV/FeLV.
She is currently in Bahrain and ready to travel to the Netherlands as soon as home is found for her.
Adoption fee is EU280 to cover some parts of her relocation costs to the Netherlands.
