MEET NERO – From survivor to snuggle-bug; Nero’s story just needs its happy ending.

Nero is an FIV+ four-year-old cat with a heart as big as his sturdy frame. After surviving the streets, he has spent the past six months in a loving foster home, where his true personality has blossomed.

This striking boy, with his rugged scars and soulful eyes, may look like a tough survivor, but he’s actually a gentle, velcro cat who adores belly rubs, head bumps, and being close to his humans. He even drools in contentment when he’s being stroked.. He’s intelligent, affectionate, and even gets along beautifully with other cats, making him a wonderful companion in many home environments.

As an FIV+ cat, Nero’s immune system is more delicate, and he does need ongoing care. He sometimes has nasal mucus and mild skin patches (which are already improving in foster care). With a little extra support — supplements like omega-3 fish oil, L-lysine, and immune boosters — Nero is thriving. His foster describes him as a cat who simply needs consistent love and care, and in return, he will give endless affection.

FIV is only contagious to other cats through deep bite wounds. It cannot spread to humans or dogs, and with proper care, FIV+ cats like Nero can live perfectly healthy lives.

Nero is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and has tested negative for mycoplasma and FeLV. His adoption fee is €275, which helps cover a small part of his veterinary and relocation costs from Bahrain to the Netherlands.

Nero has fought so hard to get this far; now he just needs a permanent, loving home where he can continue to flourish. Could that be with you?
